しんしんと降り積もる雪、雪、雪、白と黒の寒い世界の冬にどうぶつたちは、暗い穴の中で、少しでも寒くないようにと寄りそいながら、
あたたかな春の日を待ちわびている。小さな生き物から大きなどうぶまで、春の日を夢見ながら。

その時は、当然やってくる。ほんの小さな小さな春の兆し、でもどうぶつ達は見逃さない。このときを待ち焦がれて冬の寒さに耐えてきたから。
本当に幸せな日はやってくる。動物達と最後は踊りだしたくなる、歌いたくなる、ハッピーな日。

まだまだ真っ白な冬景色の中でも，動物達は春の香りをいち早く感るよう。色々な動物達が冬眠から目覚め春の香りがするほうへ走っていきます。優しい英文で書かれています＾＾春の訪れを感じさせる絵本です。

日本語訳の「はなをくんくん」も素敵ですが、英語版はもっと素敵です！
最後のところを日本語と英語とでは違う所に文化の違いを感じます。
そのまま訳す日本語の表現では、なんだか浮いてしまう。
だから日本語ではあの表現で心の中に暖かさが広がるんだな〜と
しかし、英語だとすごくしっくりくる。
日本語版を読んだ事のある方にも是非おすすめしたいです。
