このお値段でこのボリューム！全ページカラーです。厚さが5.4cmもあるので、開いて読むときカバーが邪魔になり、はずして読んでます。

さて、中身なのですが、デザイナーが頑張りましたって感じの、高所得者じゃなきゃ手にいれられないようなお宅ばかり。で、物も少なく人もほとんど写っていないので、ショールームを見ているかのようです。私はどの部屋にも住みたくないなあって思いました。無機質というか生活感が無いというか・・自分はこんな部屋に住むほどの人間じゃないと思って落ち着けなさそう。このサイトのサンプルで見られるページの写真は、この本の中ではかなりカジュアルな方です。

たとえばジャンク系のインテリア本って居住者のこだわり(生活信条みたいなものとか）が煩く感じる時があり、私は時々辟易してしまうのですが、この本はもっと純粋にデザイン美・構成美を追求した部屋が載っているので、ある意味潔いです。ですから、これからデザイナーに注文住宅を依頼して、使い勝手は悪くてもアイデア満載で生活感のないおしゃれな空間を手に入れて、渡辺篤史の建もの訪問に取材されたい人には良いですが、自分の部屋の模様替えのヒントを探してる人や生活者のセンスの良さに触発されたい人には向きません。

私は生活者のセンスの良さに触発されたい方の人間なのですが、さすがにこれだけのボリュームのデザイン美のカラー写真を目の当たりにすると、人間の美への探究心に頭の下がる思いです。なんか、脱帽って感じ。それに美しいものはやっぱり見ていて楽しいし。各お宅の平面図が小さく載っていますが、小さすぎだしはしょりすぎで、あんまり役に立ちません。それに口惜しいほど広いから、じっくり見てると腹たちます。(笑）
