「聖剣伝説」や「コンチェルトゲート」を代表作とする菊田裕樹が音楽を担当。2004年にCielよりリリースされた人気ビジュアルノベルゲーム「そらのいろ、みずのいろ」のオリジナルサウンドトラックCDです。内容はRie Kitoこと鬼頭利枝さんが歌うオープニング「そらのいろ、みずのいろ」、エンディング「みえないかたち」、挿入歌「希望の橋」のボーカル3曲をはじめ、ゲーム内で使用されたBGM、ブリッジ、ドラマ内で登場キャラクターが演奏するハーモニカ曲とアコーディオン曲、また、ゲーム制作途中に残念ながら没となった幻の曲、さらには、2006年にオリジナルDVDアニメーション化された際に、新たに書き下ろされた新曲を含めた、全24曲の完全版BGM集となっています。CD化にあたり、全曲マスタリングを見直し、音質の向上を図るほか、作曲者による詳細な解説文も収録。菊田裕樹ファンであれば是非手元に置いておきたい一作です。

菊田裕樹の新譜です。

この人の曲は、初めて聴く曲も懐かしさが感じられ、しかし彼の独創的な曲構成や進行は、他にない魅力が感じられるのです。

私は彼の作るあらゆる音楽を聴いてきましたが、私が感じた印象としては、彼の作る音楽に共通することは、いろんな色を持つ音楽ということです。

それぞれのフレーズにメロディの要素を持たせ、ゆったりと変哲の無い主旋律の色を徐々に変えていく印象を受けました。
例えば複雑で立体的な構成の和音だったり
大胆なコード進行だったり
アンサンブルの緻密さだったり
ベースの緊張感漂うフレーズだったり
緩急のあるパーカッションだったり
複数の楽器のフレーズが織り交ざった旋律だったり
とにかく沢山の要素を与えて主旋律の主張を抑えている感じがします。
結果あらゆる楽器が色を持ち、生きた副旋律が生まれる。
初視聴のときは驚愕し、聴くたびに副旋律の生きたメロディーが味わえるという
感じでしょうか。

アルバムに関して感想を言っていなかったのですが(汗)、夏らしい日差しを感じる曲や熱気と風を感じるアコースティック調な曲、海の満ち引きを感じるゆったりした曲、ネタが分かる人はちょっと中年臭さ漂う(笑)遊び心あるフレーズや、Ｒ＆Ｂっぽい曲や、歌モノが３曲(！)も入っていたりと、バリエーション豊富なラインナップであります。
菊田裕樹の新しい表現の舞台の初めということもあって、新しい試みも沢山されたんだと思います。

前述にある、いろんな色を持つ音楽というのも私は感じられました。
BGM好き、ヒーリング音楽好きにもお勧めの１枚です。
ジャケットもかわいらしい雰囲気ですので、買いやすいと思います。
