ハリー・ポッターの音楽前線に大ニュース。シリーズ３作の作曲を担当したジョン・ウィリアムズからパトリック・ドイルへの交替だ。それでも、ウィリアムズ節は消え去っていない。彼のメイン・テーマがここかしこに現れる。「Voldemort」は黒より黒い魔法使いの魂を朗々と描いた曲で、雷鳴のようにシンバルが叩かれ、ホーンが震え、騒々しいストリングスも活躍して、格式のある仕上がりはウィリアムズの方法に忠実にのっとっている。全体的にドイルは自分をよく解放した曲作りを行っている。必要な時には軽いタッチとなり（「The Quidditch World Cup」はジグのような始まり）、その一方でほとんどの場合は不気味さを押し出している（「The Quidditch World Cup」は戦争の鬨の声のように終わる）。ハイライトは前述の「Voldemort」だが、逆上したような大迫力の「The Dark Mark」もいい。このCDには毛色の変わった３曲も収録されている。ホグワーツのクリスマス・ダンスパーティーで演奏した妖女シスターズによるもので、このグループはパルプのフロントマン、ジャーヴィス・コッカーが率いて、他にレディオヘッド、そしてコッカーのサイド・プロジェクトであるリラックスド・マッスルのメンバーも参加している。「Do the Hippogriff」はテンポの速いロックで、どことなくビリー・アイドルの「White Wedding」と「Dancing with Myself」をグランジなハイブリッドに仕上げたような曲だ。他の２曲、「This Is the Night」と「Magic Works」は露骨さが減って、ずっといい出来。とは言っても、この３曲とインストゥルメンタルの曲との対比は、万人の好みに合うとはいかないかもしれない。（Elisabeth Vincentelli, Amazon.com）

今作から、音楽がジョン･ウィリアムズ氏からパトリック･ドイル氏(すみません、よく存じません･･･)に変わっています。

そのため、前３作で聞きなれた曲（ヘドウィグのテーマなど)はほとんど収録されておらず、
今までのハリー･ポッターのイメージで聞くと違和感を感じる方も多いと思います。
しかしながら、全曲にわたり壮大で美しい曲ばかりで、新しいハリー･ポッターの世界を感じさせてくれます。

原作を読んだ方、映画を見た方ならご存知と思いますが、今作でハリー･ポッターに関する、様々な謎が解き明かされていきます。
まさにこれからが本当の冒険の始まり、ということで新生ハリーを感じながら聞いて見ると面白いのではないでしょうか。

劇中にハーマイオニーの「みんな変わってゆくのね」という言葉がありますがそれも納得できてしまう一枚です。
大人になってゆくハリー(ラドクリフ君)に戸惑いを感じながらも私たちも見方を変えていかなければならないのかもしれません、
こんなハリーもいいよね！と。

それくらい今回のハリーは違います！

本当にすごいです!!!
一曲目からダイナミックな音楽から始まり、
緩やかな流れるような音楽から、涙が出てきそうな曲もあり、
すごく心に訴えるものがありました。
今回の作品は大人になったハリーたちのロマンスや、試練などが
注目されていますが、この中の曲はそれにピッタリでした!!!
購入して損はないと思います!!!

Harry４はイギリスの作曲家でパトリック・ドイル氏です。そうなんだよ！ジョン・ウィリアムズでは無いのだ〜CD買って届き聴いてみた時は全く頭の中にも心の中にも響いて来なかったので映画も期待せず観に行きました。オープニングから、グッと来る映像と曲で満足して家に帰り、又Harry４のCD聴きました。なんと、初めの曲も炎のゴブレットの曲もクラシカルな曲は、ジョン・ウィリアムズに劣らず聴ける曲でした。そうです。私は、ジョンで無いので偏見持っていたのかもしれません。長く成りましたが、ジョンの曲同様良い曲です。
