昨年秋にポーグスの作品がリマスター＆ボーナストラック追加でリイシューされると知り、首を長くして待ってましたがこれほどのクォリティとは思わなかった！丁寧で気前のいい、素晴らしいプロダクションです。

本作ではシェーンの歌声が（アルコールによって）トーンダウンした印象だったのですが、今回のリマスタリングで演奏がグンとパワフルになった分でカバーできてるんじゃないかと思います。

　それから強調したいのはシェインの書く曲の良さが以前にまして前面に出ていること。音圧がアップしたからなのか、とにかくリマスターのありがたみムンムンっす。トラッドのカバーもあるんですが、白眉はやっぱりタイトル曲やシングルになった美しい「夏の日のシャム」か。牧歌的な開放感のある印象がありますが、「ヘルズ・ディッチ」の歌詞なんかの危うさもシェインの魅力のひとつ。

聴いたことない人は是非聴いてみて下さい。どのアルバムから聴いても、ハズレはない集団ですから。

　それから今回のシリーズでは、あまりお目にかかれなかった写真もブックレットで楽しめます。これも嬉しい。
