初めて聴くという人に、驚き＋α（嫌悪だったり心酔だったり・笑）を与えるSH作品。
私の個人的な見解では、その特徴がかなり顕著に現れているのがこのElysionシリーズ。
「魔法使いサラバント」「雷神の系譜」などは特に聴く人を選ぶとしか言いようのないほどの個性をもっていたりもします。

詞を吟味しながら聴く人にはオススメ（かなりドツボにはまります）。
音楽を台詞で中断されるなんてとんでもない…という方は回れ右？

実は、私も始めは後者でしたが、SHに出会ってアリかな…と思い始めた人間です。
百聞は一聴にしかず、千聞とてまた然り（笑）。
一度触れてみないと分からないそれがSH作品だと思います。

　このCDは、sound horizonさんの良い所を集めたものです。友人に聞いてみた所、今までの曲（自主制作ですが他にアルバムが六枚）で「これはよかった」と言われたものばかりが詰まっています。
　問題の曲自体ですが、sound horizonさんの音楽は、J-POPのような音楽ではなく、まさしく「物語」と言うにふさわしいものです。しかし音楽が無いかというと、無い訳でもない。むしろ有る。「歌」と「物語」の融合。賛否両論分かれるでしょう。ただの「音楽」が聞きたいのならこのCDは満足できないものかもしれませんが、ミュージカルや歌劇といったものを想像して聞くなら面白いものです。
　それと曲の途中に語りが入るのですが、私は他にそんな曲を聴いたことがありません。これは前例のないジャンルです。これにより話と雰囲気が深くなります。ちょっと無理…、な方もいらっしゃるかと思いますが、小説（特にファンタジー系）を読まれる方や歌劇をご覧になる方はすんなりこの世界に浸れる事でしょう。
　あと、どの曲も、話の前後を描いた曲が他にあるので、良く分からない歌詞があるかもしれません。そんな時「この話をもっと知りたい！」と思えたら、他のシリーズも気に入って貰えると思います。

Sound HorizonのCDは「物語を歌い語る為の組曲的音楽」と公式HPに記載されてますように本当に純粋なポップス系ではありません。
ミュージカルや戯曲のように台詞が歌の合間合間に入ってます。
好き嫌いが激しく分かれそうなCDですが、私はHPで何度も試聴して、気に入って購入したので問題ありませんでした。
自主制作作品のCD達からピックアップされた物らしいので、このCDでは物語は統一されてないみたいです。
メインで歌うあらまりさんは声がとても綺麗ですし、なんと言っても声優顔負けの演技力だと思います。
可愛らしい少女から、老婆、凛としたナレーションまで楽しめます。
特に私は『Ark』『Yield』が特に好きです。
『Ark』は神話と近未来を投影したような歌詞で、台詞部分も良かったです。
『Yield』は初めて聴いた時はほのぼので一番受け入られやすい曲かなと思いましたが歌詞に「サロメ」っぽい箇所があります。でもメロディも聴きやすくとても素敵です。
2曲目からじまんぐさんの台詞が入りますが、この方の声はとっても特徴があるので、この辺りで好き嫌いが分かれるのかもしれません。でも吟遊詩人っぽくて（どっちかというと怪しい魔法使い的？）はまる人はどっぷりはまるかも・・・。
5曲目『魔法使いサラバント』を受け入れることができればこっちのもの、と私は思いました。
バックミュージックで言うなら、『澪音の世界』のバイオリン部分がとっても素敵…じっくり聴きたいです。
