このヘッドホンの音を一言でいえば、まろやか、です。
といっても、ぼやけているわけではなく、低音域から高音域まで過不足なく出ていて、
低域はどっしり、中域はくっきり、高域はすっきり、でも、刺激的にはならない音で、
音の解像度、分離感、定位感も非常にはっきりしていて、音場も頭の外側にまで広がります。
スタジオモニターヘッドホンのように素っ気ない音ではなく、優しく豊かに響く音になっています。
装着感も抜群で、音質と相まって、長時間の使用でも疲れません。
まさに最高のヘッドホンといえるかもしれません（あえて刺激的な音質が欲しいという人には物足りないかも）。
ただ、この素直な定位感の副作用か、モノラル音源を聴くと、あまり広がりが感じられず、
中央のみで鳴っている、という感じに聞こえてしまいます。
モノラルの名盤『ペットサウンズ』（ビーチボーイズ）を聴いてみると、ちょっと寂しく感じました。
そういう意味では音源を選ぶかもしれませんが、素晴らしいヘッドホンであることにかわりはありません。

音の印象としては基本フラットで、少々低音よりで高音が若干マスクされた、まろやかな音ですね。
低音よりと言っても、いわゆるドンシャリではなく、ふわっとしたふくよかな低音です。
高音はキンキンした音源でもうまくマスクしてくれるので痛い音は出ないです。
逆に言えばメリハリある音を求める人にはお薦めできないかと思います。

どんな音源でもそつなくオールマイティに使えると思いますが、ヴォーカルもののポップスなどをまったり聴く場合がベストかもしれませんね。

見た目もなかなかオシャレなデザインですね。
価格を考えるともう少し質感が高くてもいいかなと思いますが（＾＾；
あとこのヘッドホンは掛け心地が秀逸だと思います。
掛け心地というのは結構重要で、どんなに良い音を聴かせてくれるヘッドホンでも掛け心地が悪いと楽しく聴けません。
これに関しては個人差があるので絶対とは言えませんが、お薦めです。

なお同価格帯に同じくゼンハイザーのHD580、オーディオテクニカのATH-AD1000があります。
ATH-AD1000はある意味HD595の対極に位置するモデルだと思います。
「まったりふくよかな低音のHD595」
「低音控えめ高音クリアのATH-AD1000」

HD580は音の傾向はHD595と似ていますが、HD580の方が若干レンジが広く、さらにフラットでオールマイティな印象ですね。
HD595より低音も控えめで、個人的にはHD580の方が好きです。

聞き疲れがしない音、というのでしょうか。定位が不自然に後頭部に集中しないので、スピーカーで聞いているのに近い感じがします。また、低音を強調したりしていないので「自然」に聞くことができます。私は激しいHMやHRを聞かないので、その手の音が好きな人には物足りないかもしれませんが、家の中で聞く開放型としては価格比は最高と言えるのではないでしょうか。
