   スタンリー・キューブリック監督の『2001年宇宙の旅』とともに、その後のSF映画の流れを作った大ヒットシリーズの第1作目である。
   ケープ・ケネディから打ちあげられた宇宙船が、1年6か月後、ある惑星に不時着する。しかしそこは猿人が支配者であり、人間は下等動物という星だった…。

何度も全５作見ていますが、やはり第１作目のこれが一番です。
でも、ＤＶＤの表紙の写真に意義！！！
初めて見る人のこと全く考えていませんね。
推理小説の書き出しで真犯人をばらしているのと同じです。

この映画が公開された当時、あらすじの斬新さと意外性、メーキャップの見事さが相まってＳＦ映画のジャンルで衝撃を与えた。今見直してみても、少しも色あせず楽しむことが出来るのは、いかに高い水準であったかが分かる。そのため続編が次々に作られることになったが、続編はいずれも凡作であり、この作品には及びもつかない出来上がりとなっている。文明の進化に対する警鐘と見ることも出来るが、何よりも娯楽作品としての高いレベルで楽しむことが出来るのが素晴らしい。最近のリメークと比較しても、あらすじの斬新さと意外性は優れており、ＳＦ映画愛好家には強くお薦め出来る。
