最初は人形の細やかな動きに感心していたけれど、最後のほうはそれがまるで実写であるかのように見とれていた。目が映像に慣れるというよりも（粘土人形の動きが繊細だということもある）、練りこんである話に引き込まれていくからだ。話はいつもゆったりすることはなく、次から次にと事件と話が展開する。まるでジェットコースタームービーだが、それは悪い意味ではない。
本来使われる意味では、派手に映像が流れていくだけで、なにも残らない映画ということになってしまうが、この映画の場合、観客に飽きを感じさせず、興味と笑いで引っ張り続ける。
ストーリーは総じて笑いあり、悲しみあり、涙あり、感動もあり、恋もある。細やかな表情も、人間ではない造詣では、観る側も理解するのが困難だからだ｡それでも、ほとんどの登場人物がチキンで、人間は三人しか登場しなくても、一人一人（一匹？）の個性はしっかりとわかるぐらいのキャラクター設定と容姿は、感心するしかない。 およそ夢物語的なラストを迎えることになるが、これはこれで物語の雰囲気となじんでよかった。チキンを食べられなくなるかもしれない可能性もあるが、子供にも安心して見せられる物語だ。

ニック・パークったらハリウッドなんかに身を売って…と思ってましたが、見るとお話自体がしっかりしてるので、やっぱりちゃ〜んと面白い。流石です。大脱走のパロディになっていて、スティーブ・マックィーンがボール持って独房でパタコンパタコンやってるところとか出てくるのが面白い。クレイメーションは、スローモーションで見るのが醍醐味です。ひとコマづつ見て、表情や筋肉なんかを、ここまで丹念に動かしてるんだ！と確認するだけでもう私なんかは脱帽。

家族みんなクレイアニメが好きなので買ってしまいました。
結果大当たりでした。
大脱走のパロディということは知っていたのでそのシーンを見つける
楽しみもありおもしろかったです。
もちろん大脱走を知らなくても十分楽しめます。
ちなみに、家の子供たちは大脱走をしりませんがとてもおもしろかった
そうです。

クレイの技術もすばらしく、本当に生きてるようです。
好き嫌いはあると思いますが私はおすすめです。
