まず、ファミコンという限られたスペックの中で
アーケード版の雰囲気を壊す事なく、上手くお茶の間に
マッピー達を連れてきてくれたという事に対して
当時の移植チームの皆さんに感謝したい。
ありがとう！





で、肝心の内容だが…

「このゲームを作ったスタッフは天才集団である」
と断言できる。

これほどシンプル且つ完成されたシステムの作品は
後にも先にも存在しない。
ドア開閉＆パワードア・トランポリン・落とし穴・ベル。
中毒性は極めて高いのではなかろうか？

また、音楽も優れていて今でも無性に聴きたくなることがある。
僕はゲームミュージックも
その作品の完成度を高める大切な要因になることを
このゲームで初めて知ったのだ。

この頃のナムコのソフトはマッピーを含めて
どれも同じように『シンプル＆絶妙なゲームバランス』で
中毒患者を増産していた。
そのため今でもオールドタイトルをこよなく愛する
ナムコファンが多いのである。
（かといってそれを利用してミュージアムを乱発する
　ナムコ側の姿勢は少々いただけないが。）

その後ファミコン版としては
続編『マッピーランド』や『マッピーキッズ』が発売された。
『〜ランド』は欲張りすぎてバランスが悪くなってしまったし、
『〜キッズ』はワギャンランドっぽい全く別物な作品であった。
やはり第１作目を超えることは不可能であろう。

トランポリンで移動しつつ、敵（ネコ）から逃げながら、ステージ上のいろいろなものをとっていくゲーム。
これくらいに単純明快なゲームになると、いろいろな楽しみ方がある。
自分が楽しんだのは1面だけで何点取れるかに熱中して、2万点でマッピーの残りが1つ増えますが、それをさらに越えて確か3万点越えがベストでした。
衝撃波のドアでは常に全部のネコを捕まえ、
アイテムはラジカセ、テレビ、ワープロ？、モナリザ、金庫の順。
なるべく大ネコがアイテムに隠れたときに取る、
ネコを普通のドアで叩くと50点入るのでひたすらそれで点を稼ぐ、トランポリンに落とすように子猫を叩くと子猫は気絶しないのですぐに戻ってくる。（子ネコは自分に向かってきます、大ネコは決まった経路で動いています）
などなど、Hurryが2回出るまで粘って、ご先祖様が出たところでクリアしておしまい。
って感じです。1面が終わったらすぐにリセットしてひたすらプレイした日々を思い出します。

ドアや回数制限のあるジャンプバーを駆使して猫を追い掛け回すナムコの名作懐かしゲーム。
通常ステージと風船を割るボーナスステージの繰り返しがエンドレスで延々と続くので、途中で「何やってるんだろ、俺…」と茫然自失となった経験があるのは、僕だけでしょうか？

僕同様、ゲームで人生を台無しにした人は、このゲームを再びプレイして、帰らない日々に涙しましょう（泣笑）…。
