今からもう１０年以上前。初めて我が家にスーパーファミコンがやって来て、初めてのスーファミとして「ゼルダの伝説」をやったのは。
これが、面白かったせいだ。
私がゲーム好きになってしまったのは。
以来十何年、私のゲーム好きは変わらず。根元はこのゲームにあり。
我が家では既に伝説のゲームとして名を欲しいままにしている。

今やったとしても楽しめる自信がある。それくらい面白いゲームだった。
実際２年ほどまえにやったら面白くてハマった。

歩くだけで楽しくなるゲームを目指した、と
宮本茂が言うだけあって、歩くだけで色んな
発見や楽しみがあるゲームです。

シリーズにサブタイトルが付いたのは本作から。1作目ではゲーム的な括りでしかなかった「表面と裏面」を物語に上手く組込んでいる。アイテムを使ったパズル的な謎解きが楽しい多彩なダンジョン・ボスをはじめとする個性豊かな敵キャラ・印象的な音楽と効果音の数々・歩いているだけで様々な発見があるハイラルの世界。ハードの性能上表現がシンプルだったディスクシステム版の1・2作目と較べて、間もなく2008年を迎える今現在でも十分楽しめる完成度だと思う。今見るとリンクのデザインがまだまだ洗練されていない印象を受けるけど、当時を考えればこんな意見は野暮でしょ。ゲームの金字塔だ、という熱烈なファンの評価にも素直に頷ける素晴らしゲー。
