一番リピート率が高いアルバムです。メロディ作りが昨今、似た感じになってきているB'zですが、ここではバラエティにとんだ秀曲が目白押しです！しかも二枚組み！
B'zの音の確立、演奏面、創作面でノリに乗ってる時期ですね。
松本さんは、クイーン、ボン・ジョヴィ、ヴァン・ヘイレン、ゲイリー・ムーアなど受けた影響をうまく消化してB'zに取り込んでいます。
個人的に「闇の雨」「赤い河」「破れぬ夢を〜」「おでかけしましょ」「Love is Dead」が好きです。B'zベスト的アルバム！

前作『RUN』の大ヒットに気を良くしてさらにハードロックに接近した初の二枚組み。
シングル曲1曲(英詩アレンジ含めれば2曲)
売れに売れ二枚組みオリジナルアルバムとしては初のミリオン突破作品となった。
一枚目は比較的ポップな曲で構成されているが二枚目はマニアック。
ただし最近のB'zと比べればハードさは控えめ。そしてあらゆるジャンルの曲に挑戦している。
『Don't Leave Me』『赤い河』『春』『JAP THE RIPPER』などの名曲が収録されている。
暗黒時代と呼ばれたが個人的には黄金時代ではないかと思う。
ただこのアルバムの路線を続ければJ-POPとしてのB'zは確実に破綻する。
なので彼らは次作『LOOSE』で再び『IN THE LIFE』までのポップス路線へ回帰する。

Ｄｉｓｋ１の４曲目は"闇の雨"ですね。

私は本当に小さいときからＢ’ｚを聞いてきたのですが、
小さい頃には解らなかった歌詞の内容が少しずつ解ってきて、
また改めて昔のＢ’ｚも良いなと思えたＣＤです。

今とはまた違った良さがあると思います。
