１４歳までに直面するであろう問題に、直球勝負で考えるきっかけを与えようとしている。
もし、池田晶子の他の作品を読んだことがあるひとなら、素直に読めるかもしれない。
内容は、その通りのことが書かれており、疑問を差し挟む余地はない。
しかし、本当に直球勝負で考えることができる１４歳は、半分くらいかもしれない。
それ以外の１４歳には、もっと違う方法がよいかもしれない。

タイトルに惑わされてはいけません。私と同じような30代、40代の働き盛りのオジサン、あなたこそこの本を読むべきだと思います。「14歳から」の本かもしれませんが、「なぜ生きているのか」「何が本当のことなのか」を考えることに年齢制限はありません。そして、それは一生続きます。それは、あなたが会議に出ているときでも、奥さんや子供といっしょにいるときでも、ずっと続いているんです。だって、今、生きているんだから。この本は、僕たち大人がわかっているようでわかっていない「本当のこと」に気が付くための手助けをしてくれます。そのことに気付いたからと言って年収が上がったりはしませんが、それよりも大事なことがあるのかも？と思うようになれるかもしれません。最後に、こういった書物を通じて僕たち大人が「本当のこと」を知ろうとすることこそが、今の「14歳たち」にとって、すごく大事なことなのだと思います。いつの時代でも、子供たちは身近な大人たちを真似て育つのですから...

中学生や高校生が哲学をしてみようと思ったら、是非、この本を読んで欲しい。
中学生や高校生が思索すべき事がたくさんのっています。
でも、ソクラテスのように問いがあるのみです。
本書と一緒に考えてみましょう。
考えてみる価値はあります。
読み終わったら、少し、人生が変わります。
世界を深く理解出来るようになります。
大人も読んでみる必要も大です。
