アメリカとソ連が第二次世界大戦以後の戦後世界を形作っていた冷戦。
今や過去になってしまった、「冷たい」戦争の成立に関する最新の研究です。
アメリカとソ連の双方の「イデオロギー」に注目して、
冷戦が形作られていく状況について描いています。

多くの史料と批判的な視点、先行研究の理解など非常に面白く、
専門的な書籍であるにもかかわらず、
非常に面白く読むことができました。
特に、普段強調されるようなソ連のイデオロギーよりも、
アメリカのイデオロギーが冷戦に及ぼした影響力についての言及は、
最近のアメリカの状況を見ていく上でも大いに参考になります。
