この本は大変分かりやすく適性検査で求められることや、適性検査で問われる３つの力、３つの力を伸ばすコツなど、参考になることがたくさん書いてありますので、子供の方が読んでも、保護者の方が読んでも納得できる１冊になっていると思います。

この本は、一般的な私立中学入試問題と公立中高一貫校適性検査問題の違いと、どのような力が求められているかを実際の問題を例に、解りやすく解説しています。その上で、公立中高一貫校に求められる力の育成に何が必要か、家庭でできることは何かについて的確に説明しています。ところどころ、一部の既存進学塾に対する辛口のコメントも見られますが、実際に中学受験塾の現場にいる身としては耳が痛い部分もあり、反省を促される一冊でもあります。
　「子どもたちに必要とされる本当の力が何か」について、著者の考えと情熱があふれる力作だと言えるでしょう。保護者向けに書かれた本ですが、塾現場の先生方、各学校の先生方にも十分お役に立つものです。ご一読をお勧めします。

　公立中高一貫校の受検を考えて、適性検査そのものを見ても、問題がどのような力を求めているのか、求めている力をどう伸ばしていったらいいのか、一般の親にはちょっと理解しきれないので、困ってしまうことが多いのです。
　この本では、公立中高一貫校が求めているのは、小６までの基礎知識を基に自分自身で考えられる子どもであり、そういう子を取るために行う適性検査とはどういうものか、そこで問われる３つの力：読み取る力、気づく力、伝える力とは何か、実際の適性検査を使って、一般人にも、とても分かりやすく解説しています。
　そしてその能力を伸ばすために、家庭でできることとして、自分の頭で考えて行動する親の子どもは、やはり自分で行動するようになっていくものなので、｢親自身が自分で考えて行動する姿勢を見せること｣を前提に、作文や自由研究などの家庭学習を通して子供にどう接していくか、実例を挙げて紹介しています。
　受検のことだけに留まらず、普段の子どもとの望ましい接し方を考えることのできる、たいへん実用的な本だと思いました。
