九州・沖縄の妖怪（ぬりかべ、キジムナーなど）
妖怪資料編（妖怪とはなにか、柳田國男徹底研究など）
コラム（女性が妖怪になるわけ、現代の妖怪たちなど）

という構成。
結構細かく書かれています。「日本の妖怪」ということで、漢字が多く読み辛いと感じましたが、内容が面白いのでＯＫ。
個人的に驚いたのは「河童」は何種類もいたこと。地域によって特徴や名前が違うなんて知りませんでした。

萌え萌えシリーズはイラストは全部女の子になっていますが、内容は非常によく調べられたもので、馬鹿に出来ない代物です。この本の購入を決めたきっかけは、ぬりかべの造形が水木先生のあの形でなく、2007年にブリガムヤング大学で新たに発見されたものである事です。そこに感動し、購入を決めました。
妖怪に興味あるけど怖いのはちょっと…という人にも、昔からの妖怪ファンにも勧められる一冊です。
