ちょっと、手を伸ばしにくいタイトル、でも表紙の燃える太陽に言い知れぬエネルギーのようなものを感じて、つい手にとってしまった一冊だった。人が真の芸術に到達するということは、如何なる事なのか。人間が何がしかの芸術を生み出すということは、何か神がかりのような力が宿り、その人の体を支配して独自の欲求を満たすかのように一人歩き始めること。あるいは宇宙？(神）からのエネルギーをうまく自身に引き寄せる力を持った者だけが、真の芸術に到達できるのではないか、という事をかねてより私自身も無意識のうちに感じていた。その選ばれた者になりたかった、、、、しかしその代償は？

初め、題名に抵抗を感じました。「男根」だなんて！そんなあからさまな表現は、特に女性は抵抗を感じます。でも、読んでいくうち、「あれっ？、なんかとても清潔！」初めの登場人物がとてもいい感じで、どんどん読み進んでいくうち、いつの間にか、とてもどこにでもある現実から、壮大な神ともいえる宇宙にワープしていました。そして、最後に一番嬉しくそして作者の愛情を感じたのは、一人の人間の持っているパワーへの応援でした。自分に「壁」を作ってしまってた私には、本当に、血液凝固阻止剤のような本でした。

　一気に読ませてもらいました。
　『変身』『変体』『進化』をテーマとして書かれた物語自体は非常に吸引力の強いものでした。ただ、残念なことにテーマの掘り下げ方が浅く、目新しさも感じません。どこかで読んだエピソードの繋ぎ直しといった印象を強く受けました。
　次回作ではより作者独自の色が在ることを期待します。
