1948年東京生まれ。東京写真大学短期大学部技術科(現東京工芸大学芸術学部)卒。専門はクモの分類、分布、生態研究。クモの生態写真撮影では世界の第一人者。1967年、故萱嶋泉氏らと共に東京蜘蛛談話会を設立(現在会員数200名)、各地で観察会、研修会、講演会を行い、日本のクモ研究の中心的な役割を果たしている。また日本蜘蛛学会においても運営委員、編集委員長、評議員を歴任。現在、東京蜘蛛談話会会長、日本蜘蛛学会自然保護委員会委員長、国分寺市市議会議員、(有)シンカイ写真館代表取締役(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)
