主に2006年の通信業界の成り行きについて書かれている。99年に再編したNTTだが、そのグループ構造は現在の通信業界の状況には適していない。 2010年にはNTTは解体してしまうのか？そして、どのように再々編を行うのか？通信業界でそういった思いがある中、NTTグループの現在の状況(06 年時）、NTTグループと他の通信事業者とのやりとり、そして、総務省とのやりとりがわかりやすく書かれている。通信業界に従事している人はもちろん、通信業界、NTTに興味がある人は必読。
ただ、移動通信事業に関心がある人にとっては物足りない内容かもしれない。ほとんどが固定通信（光ファイバー、次世代ネットワーク）について書かれているので。
だけど、これを読むことによって、通信事業者間の関係がよくわかる。電電公社からの通信インフラ、そして莫大な資金を持つ巨人NTT。電力会社、CATV とも連携しながら固定通信を強め、総合通信事業者としての強みを活かしNTTを追随するKDDI。通信業界の革命児、孫さんが率い、通信インフラからコンテンツまで手がけ、総合デジタルカンパニーを目指すソフトバンク。
これからもこの３社の動向には目が離せません！

タイトルはインパクトがありますが、
内容は通信業界の最新の現状が分かりやすく整理されたものです。

本書の重要なキーワードとなっているのは、
竹中懇親会（通信・放送のあり方に関する懇親会）です。
この一大臣の私的会合が通信業界に大きな影響を与えたことがよく分かります。

これによって2010年にNTTが解体されるかは分かりませんが、
組織体制の見直しを迫られることになったのは事実です。

そして、そうした背景を元にNTT・KDDI・ソフトバンクそれぞれの思惑や現状も
改めて整理されています。

前作同様、難しい表現も少なく、
通信業界に詳しくない方にも読みやすいと思います。

インパクトのあるタイトルに興味を持たれた方は、
少し物足りない面もあるかもしれません。
逆に敬遠してしまった方には思いのほかに読みやすく、
興味の持てる内容ではないでしょうか。

目まぐるしく変化する通信業界を追う、シリーズ３冊目。
前２冊を今、読みかえすと「ほんの１、２年前が、遠い過去だな・・・」とシミジミ思う。
総務省、ＮＴＴ、ＫＤＤＩ、ソフトバンク、ＮＴＴドコモ、通信機器メーカー、ＣＡＴＶ、ＩＳＰ・・・
思惑が交錯する様は、まるでドラマのようだが、これが現実。
業界の末席にいる私が日頃感じていることを整理・確認できた。
そのためか、先日の菅総務大臣の「情報通信省」発言も「想定内」であった。

本シリーズは鮮度が命なので、すぐ購入する事をお勧めする。
この戦争は、今後、地デジ・ＷｉＭＡＸ・防災無線・衛星通信などまだまだ戦火が広がる兆しがある。
出版社には、シリーズの継続を大いに期待したい。
