DynaBookが２０万円を切って発売されてから、ずっとDynaBook利用者だったので、ThinkPadの愛好家の方々の話には耳をかしてきませんでした。
身の回りには、ThinkPad利用者、Macintosh利用者、LetsNote利用者がいて、それぞれよい点があるようです。
ThinkPadのよい点を知るには、本書は最適かもしれません。

IBMのPC部門は、LENOVOに買収されてしまったので、そのよい点が継承されるかどうかは分かりません。
Lenovoを購入しようとおもったときに、よい点が継承されているかどうかを確かめるのに、本書は役立つかもしれません。

ThinkPadに思い入れの深いユーザーが結集して作り出した本です。そのため製品情報にしても単なるカタログ表にならず、実際の使用感から来る利点や欠点、ちょっとしたテクニックなども書かれています。IBM関係者のインタビューや施設の取材では、普段は知ることのないメーカー側の話が聞けます。周辺機器やパーツの互換表は、付属品が不足している中古品を購入したときに大変役立ちそうです。そして一番楽しんだのは愛用する機種を思い入れたっぷりと語ったコーナーで、これほど愛されるThinkPadは幸せ者、愛すべきThinkPadと出会った人も幸せ者と祝福したくなります。この本は絶版となり入手も難しいようですが、ぜひとも新機種も加えた改訂版をお願いします。
