　とにかく列車の中でも、旅行先でも気軽に気軽に２０、３０分でさーと読めることが、この本の最大の利点です。にもかかわらず、どのページにも著者の豊富な経験に基づいた考察があり、さまざまの対処法も具体的であり、本の値段が安いわりには非常に得したと感じます。知識羅列でやや図式的なのが難点ですが、それでも子育てをする以上、知っておいた方が良いことばかりです。非常に多忙な人、こむずかしいことは面倒だという人、子育てについて千円以上の高い本まで買いたくない人にはお勧め。

家庭でできる指導方法が学年別に書かれていて、とても参考になりました。具体的にどんなことをしたらよいのか、国語・算数・理科・社会とそれぞれの教科を伸ばしていくための方法が書かれています。「勉強やったの」と声ばかりかけていた毎日ですが、もっと違う働きかけをしていたら・・・。子供が低学年のうちにこの本を読んでいればよかったと思いました。

勉強に追われる小学校高学年や中学生になる前に、どれだけ子供に「生き生きとした地力」をつけられるか、アイデアにあふれた本。

本のタイトルどおり、「子供の学力・生命力があとになってどれだけ伸びるか、その伸びしろを作ってやるにはどうしたらよいか」ということを、親は小さいころから常に考えてやる必要がある。

学習漫画も活用した十分な読書、自然体験、施設体験、人との出会いなどの体験などが大切だという。

低学年から中学年にかけて、こういった体験をする時間を十分にとった子供が後伸びするというのは、大いに納得できる話である。

こういったアイデアも意識的に子育てに盛り込んでいくことが大事だと思う。
