動物たちの話が7つ入っています。
熊にトラ、カラス、ヘビ、おたまじゃくし、鹿など、
いろんな動物が出てきます。それぞれの動物がそれぞれに
暮らしている日々の中で、いろんなことを考えます。
読んでいると、なんだか時間が静かに流れる気がします。

私が好きなのは「いただきます」と「りっぱな牡鹿」。
とくにりっぱな牡鹿は好き。
人生に意味なんてないんだ！と言いつつ、意味を探してしまう矛盾。
そして、本当はそんなことにこだわることこそ意味のないことだということ。
人生ってほんとはすごく単純なことなんだと。

とてもインパクトのあるタイトル。
ジャンルとしては児童書になるみたいですが、
これは児童じゃなくて、大人が読んだほうが面白いかも。
もちろん子どもが読んでも楽しめると思うけど。

忙しいときにこそ読みたいかもしれない本。
さらっと読めます。

７つの短編からなる作品集。
「人生について考える７つの動物寓話」と、銘打たれている通り、それぞれ、熊、ヘビ、カラス、おたまじゃくし、牡鹿…といった具合に、動物たちを主人公にしている。

ほのぼのと優しげな動物達が繰り広げる物語は、しかしどれも奇妙な味がある。結構、シュールかつシニカル。死の影さえ、ちらちらよぎる。かといって、決してグロテスクではない。何というか、子供の透徹した眼差しで見た世界のような、どこか不思議で懐かしい感じもするのだ。

児童書の体裁をとってはいるが、なかなかどうして、大人が読んで十分に堪能できる本だ。

人生について考える動物寓話。全７話。
子供向けの童話だが、とてもリアリティのある話
ばかりで読みながらドキッとさせられる。

そうそう、こんなことあるあると共感。
そして無意識のうちに従来の童話のような
ハッピーエンディングを想像していると
次にどっかーんとどんでん返しが待っていたりする。

特に好きなのは「いただきます」と
「ないものねだりのカラス」の２話。

泣いているトラの悩みを解決してあげた旅人。
別れ際、目に感謝の涙を浮かべるトラ。
しかしなんと口にはヨダレが溢れている…。
これも自然の厳しい掟である。

あたり前のことが書かれているから、改めてオトナが読むほどでもないと思います。なぜ流行ったんでしょう・・・。子供が思想をめぐらせて読むのはいいかもしれません。
