目標は、夢にちかづくための階段・・・・・どんなことにも身近な目標を立てて目標をクリアすれば必ず夢にちかづく。一流の人が唱える言葉であるが、北島が、綴ることでとても身近にかんじられます。　　　平井コーチのの章もあり、子供だけでなく保護者にもこそだてのヒントになる本です。前向きに生きていくことが大事！！熱くかたりかけてくれる。よい本だとおもいます。

この本は、「スイマガ」といわれる専門雑誌にコラムとして北島選手が書いたことをまとめたものです。
したがって、そういう専門誌を読むぐらい水泳に命をかけて取り組んでいる子供に向けたメッセージになっている。
なので、水泳をしていない自分としては、いささか的外れに感じた。

ただ、一流選手の言葉の重みは感じることができた。
北島選手のひたむきなまでの努力は、すごいものを感じる。
どのスポーツでも共通するものも少しあるということで☆３つとしました。
