入試問題にこの思考の整理学の文章を見つけました。「時の試練とは、時間のもつ風化作用をくぐっているということである。風化作用は言いかえると忘却にほかならない。古典は読者の忘却の層をくぐり抜けたときに生れる。作者自らが古典を創りだすことはできない。」この部分が気になって購入したのですが、初版が２０年前だったことを知り、とても驚きました。文章がまったく色褪せておらず、この本自体が、時の試練を越えているように思います。

よいアイデアは、ひらめいた時に書き留めること、そしてそれを一旦頭から外して寝かせること。そして育ってきたアイデアは別の場所に移すということが、著者の具体例と共に書かれていて、実用書として機能する良書だと思います。

考えること、思考の整理方法について、体系的に書かれた入門書。
最初の「考えを醗酵せよ。寝かせろ」と書かれた章は、
ジェームス・ヤング著「アイデアのつくり方」と全く同じ事を言っている
ので、驚きました。

１９８６年に書かれた本なので、インターネットに関する記述が無いなど
いささか古い面もありますが、

それでもなお今でも通用する部分が多々あります。

目からウロコだったのは、「忘却する努力をせよ」ということ。
これからは、人間の頭は知識を詰め込む「倉庫」ではなく、
新しいものを創り出す「工場」であるべきだ。

そして、思考の整理という観点から眺めると、
倉庫でいう整理とは、考えをまとめること。

工場でいう整理とは、いらないものを捨てること。
つまり、これからの私たちに求められることは、忘却することだ。

目からウロコでした。今まで詰め込み教育をされており、
知識を得ることが重要だと思っていた私にとって、
「忘れていいよ。いや、忘れなさい」と言われたのは初めてでした。

また、著者はこんなことも言っています。

「話を聞いて、つまらないと思ったことをノートに書きなさい。
　そして、大切なことはノートに書くな。」

どういう意味だと思いますか？？かなり逆説的な意味ですが。。。
詳しくは、本文を読んでみてください。
「考える」という本当の意味を示唆してくれる本だと思います。

「整理学」というタイトルから連想されるようなクリティカル・シンキング系の内容ではなく、モノを考えることについてのエッセイ集のような内容でした。
各章の構成も、著者が思いついたことをつらつらと述べているので、結論がぼんやりしていて、現代のビジネス書の文章に慣れた身には、スピード感に欠け、どうにももどかしく感じました。
