3.0 out of 5 stars いまひとつの作品。, 2007/4/26
前作「征服者ロビュール」もかなり単調な展開の作品だったが、今作はさらに単調さが出てしまっている。主人公が、「世界の支配者」に出会うまでの展開だけで、物語全体の６割以上のページを使っている。未確認物体「エプヴァント号」の全貌があかされる場面でも、「こりゃ、飛ぶな。」と先読みが出来てしまった。主人公が囚われながらの冒険場面も、残りページ数の都合でなんだか中途半端のうちに、墜落してロビュールが死んでジ・エンド。「あほうどり号」より性能的にパワーアップしてても、物語性がダウンしてるんじゃあまり良い出来とは言えない。なんとかつじつまを合わせて作成された感のある作品。。まあ、最晩年に書かれた作品だから出来に関しては仕方ないか。天才にしては、すべったタイトルだ。

こちらはヴェルヌ作のある作品の続編です。
たとえば、某作品と「神秘の島（ミステリアス・アイランド）」の関係にある
作品ですので、これに先行する作品をお読みになられてからでないと、
ラストの部分が楽しめないかもしれません。

私は、それを知らずにこちらから読んだためか、ヴェルヌのほかの作品に比べ、
すこし、物語が薄いように感じました。

ただ、ここでもヴェルヌの科学空想力は余すところなく発揮されていますので、
単体でこちらから読んでしまった人は、物語の途中途中で
彼のこの空想は、確かに実現してるな。とか、ここはさすがに・・・。
なんて思いながら読まれてみるのもよろしいのでは？
