閉鎖された山村での吸血鬼モノ、と言うと、
真っ先に思い浮かぶのは小野不由美の『屍鬼』のような陰々滅々とした状況でしょうが、
そこはライトノベルというか、そこは阿智太郎というか、ラブコメ風ギャグ小説です。
ギャグではありますが、山村モノの醍醐味である閉鎖性やローカルな因習の匂いもあり、
「老いる事のできぬ者」の哀しみもはしっかり入っていて、
この辺りのセンスは流石と言えます。

吸血鬼ものと言えば、同作者のデビュー作は『僕の血を吸わないで』であり、
両作のシチュエーションは全然違いますが。
『住めば都のコスモス荘』や『陰からマモル!』といったアニメ化までされたヒット作を飛ばした同作者の、原点回帰のような気もしますすね。

大体こういう本の主人公ってやたら意味もなく周囲の女の子からモテまくるじゃないですか。
「主人公はみんなにやさしいから」とかそんなの理由になってません。


しかしこの本の主人公、直樹くんは違います。ちゃんと女の子から、引越し先の村人からモテモテな理由があるんです。


村祭りの日に明かされる驚愕の事実!!
なんと、直樹くんが引っ越してきたのは村人みんな吸血鬼の村だったのです！！
直樹くんの血を欲しがるために近寄る女の子たち（＋村人）!!


なんとわかりやすい。
やっぱり女は打算的ですね。
直樹くんは抵抗むなしく吸血鬼になってしまうのか！？


個人的に直樹くんにすごいシンパシー感じてニヤニヤしながら読みましたが、
これが僕なら話開始早々に「女の子に囲まれて幸せー！　完」となってしまうところでしょう。
やっぱ主人公は違うわ。


「マンモスおもしろい」です。
