ある資産家の失踪事件と、全然繋がりがありそうもないタクシー強盗事件が発生する。そして、捜査の過程でそれぞれの人間関係から思いも寄らない繋がりが見えてくる。

タクシー強盗事件で犯人の目から捕らえた視点はある種のリアリティがあり、読者をその場に引き込ませてしまう筋書きだ。この辺り著者の筆力を感じさせられる。

いつものように、刑事事件である為得意の推理が織り交ぜられているが、どことなくギクシャクした感じにも取れる。

また、殺しの場に出てくる人物像が暴力団や暴走族といった、いわば一般的な（殺人事件の）背景にある人間に落ち着く点は残念ながら平易に感じてしまう。
もう少し趣向を凝らした人物像を描いて欲しかった。
