5.0 out of 5 stars 現代的な解釈のない原文の論語を読めます, 2006/2/28
1963年に初版が発行された歴史ある本です。私は「原文を手元に置きたい」という考えから購入しました。

「論語」を解説した本はたくさんありますが、その中でこの本は「敢えて解説を極力減らした」書籍と言えます。
よって現代社会に通じる例示などはなく、古典の教科書のような「原文・書き下し・現代語訳・語注」による構成です。
尚、語注は巻末にまとめるタイプではなく、その都度そのページに書かれているので読みやすいです。

この本の場合、実生活への活用に結びつけるのは読者それぞれの役割になるため、
先入観のない自分独自の理解をしたい人にはお勧めかと思います。

また、巻末に「語句索引」がついており、辞書のように使うこともできるので便利です。

　論語の解説書は多く出版されているので、内容を詳しく知ろうと思えば、解説書を読めばいいと思います。この本はできる限り、訳を単純にしているのでわかりにくいということもありますが、その分、奥が深い味わいがあります。
　特に書き下しで読んでみると、論語というのはなんともいえないよさがあります。ですから、基本は書き下しで読んでみて、意味のわかりにくいものは訳を参考にしてみるという読み方がよいと思うのですが、この本はそうするのにもってこいだと思います。

購入してから随分と経ちますが、気になったところに付箋を貼りながら読了し、暇な時にパラパラとめくったりします。すると「ああ、そうだった」とその部分を読んだ時に抱いた自戒を思い出して頭を掻いたりしています。難しい内容までは分からない私ですが、それでも折に触れて読みたくなります。自分が人生に迷った時、答えを自分で見つけ出さなくてはならないと分かっていながらも、隣でふと呟いて、背中を押してくれる一言一言にあふれています。そしてそれを参考に、自分の歩き方を模索していくのが良いのではないでしょうか。お堅い本、と決め付けずに一度読んでみてはいかがですか？
