僕にとっての、最高の外国人作家であり、最高の著作である。

でも、読んだ当時の恩人ハジメさんに貸した。結局返ってこなっかった。zannne。

「ナジャ。なぜってロシア語で希望という言葉のはじまりだから、はじまりだけだから。」
ブルトンがパリで出会った女神。彼女は自身の名をこう語った。
彼女はドラクロアが描いた民衆を導く自由の女神だろうか。
唯、パリにバリケードが築かれなくなって、あまりに久しい。
ブルトンはナジャとの出逢いの前、書店でトロツキーの本を買う。

「まさか、まだこの人々に、革命をおこす用意があるなどとは思えなかった。」

この言葉を理解するためには、ヴァルター・ベンヤミンの「ボードレールにおける第二帝政期のパリ」と「シュールレアリスム」を読んでから、「歴史哲学テーゼ」を見てください。

そこには、翻る三色旗の替わりに、軽やかに飛翔するための翼をひろげた「新しい天使」の大きく見ひらかれた眼があるはずです。
その眼が何を見ているのか考えてみてください。

序文から読み始めたのだが、当初はこれは小説なのかとの思いにとらわれた。「ナジャ」が登場してからは話のスリリングな展開に引きずられて読み進んだ。ところが「ナジャ」の社会的な死？後にまた同じ思いにとらわれた。その後116ページもある訳注と35ページの解説を読んで何となく著者の意図が見えてきた。なぜ印象が途中変るのか、序言（遅れた至急報）とは？、なぜ35年後に改訂したのか？等々。あちこちに隠れた隠喩？が埋められている印象があり、とにかく得難い経験をした。普通の小説に飽き足らない方にはぜひ一度読むことをお薦めする。
