『モモ』は、子供のための童話でもありますが、実は無垢な子供の感覚を忘れつつある大人のための童話でもあるのです。

子供の頃、どこかに遊びに出かけて、あまりに夢中になってしまったために、家に帰るのが遅くなって叱られた経験はありませんか？

子供たちは、大人のように、グレゴリオ暦（私たちが日常で使っているカレンダー）や時計には全く支配されていないのです！

子供のハートの中にはもちろんのこと、実は、私たち大人のハートの中にも、内なる子供インナーチャイルドが潜んでいます。

インナーチャイルドは、ハートからのお楽しみや心ゆくまで遊びに没頭することが大好きです。

子ども向けの童話なのに深い、深いストーリー。
主人公のモモは子どもだけど、一番自立している人間。
今の社会と類似した、時間のない大人たち。
何のために時間を節約し、忙しい思いをしているのか。

節約された時間は自分の元にはもどらず、永遠に消えうせる。
けっしてとりもどすことはできない。
なんでも早くすればいいってもんじゃないのよね。

昨今のスローライフ、ロハスの考え方も現在社会のゆがみを
訂正しようとする動きなんじゃないかな。
エンデが生きていたらまたいいアイデアを私たちにくれてると思う。

時の花は１人１人違う形をしている。だからあせることもない。
できることからはじめよう、そう思わせてくれます。
疲れた大人たちにもぜひ読んでほしい。

よく、哲学などの本で引用されているため、
「なんとなく難しい本」とのレッテルを貼っていたのですが、、
読んでみて、

「現代人の矛盾をもの凄く簡単に記載してる本」

だということを発見。ちょっと今まで読まなかったのを後悔しました。


言葉も、内容も子供向けの童話として書かれているのですが、
主人公の少女モモが語る言葉は、
ひとつひとつ大人である自分たちを刺激し、振り返らせる先見性や風刺に満ちています。


必死で働く人間たちから、時間を盗んでいく灰色の男たちと戦うモモを通じて、
現代人が失ったものがありありと描き出されて、

毎日失っているものの価値を気づかせてくれます。


子供たちに。そして夜中まで働くお父さんに。

是非オススメの本です！
