   ビートルズをモチーフにした同名アニメーション映画のサントラ盤である。
   ビートルズの音楽は前半の6曲のみで、後半にはジョージ・マーティン・オーケストラによる劇中音楽が収められている。しかも、<1>と<6>は既発表曲のため、純然たるビートルズの新曲は4曲しか入っていない。
   そのビートルズの演奏曲に関しては、66~68年2月という録音時期を反映して、サイケデリックな衣装をまとったカラフルな印象の曲が多い。後半の劇中音楽も、ビートルズファンならニヤリとできる仕掛けが潜んでいて楽しい。（星野吉男）

猛烈な勢いで、ミュージック・シーンを塗り替えてきたビートルズが、ちょっと一休みしたようなアルバム。
だからといって、内容が劣るわけではなく、アニメという分野での才能が示されています。

実際の映画は、アニメとビートルズのヒット曲が調和した素晴らしい作品でした。このアルバムは、発表済の３曲にオリジナル４曲に加え、ジョージ・マーチンのオーケストレイションで構成されています。これが今までにないアルバム構成ですが、ビートルズの歴史にはなくてはならない要素だと思います。

ビートルズは、ストリングスやホーンなどクラシック音楽のファクターを取り入れ音楽の世界を広げていったのですが、ビートルズとオーケストラを組み合わせた構成は、よく合いますね。
　こういう雰囲気のアルバムを作りたかったんでしょうか？

このアルバムでは、「オール・トゥゲザー・ナウ」が大好きな曲です。こんな曲が次々と生み出せたビートルズっていうのは、本当に天才ですね！

このアルバムは同名アニメのサウンドトラックとして発売されました。イエローサブマリンはアニメーションで声優を起用したため、ビートルズの出番はラストにちょこっとだけでした。幼いショーンが友達の家でイエローサブマリンを観て、ジョンに 'ねぇ。パパはビートルズだったの?'と尋ねたことがジョン復活のきっかけだったことはあまりにも有名です。(本当は別の理由らしい) さて、この作品に文句たれてる奴がいるようだが、勘違いもここまでくると救いようがないね。だってこれってサントラ盤なんだよ!新曲が4曲しかないの、オーケストラの演奏が退屈だのって、サントラなんだから仕方ないでしょ!きっとこういう奴らは、ハードデイズナイトのUA盤や、ヘルプの米編集盤を見たことがないんだろーなー。もう一度言います。これはサントラ盤です。純粋にビートルズの音楽のみを楽しみたい方にはあまり薦められません。ソングトラックのほうがいいと思うよ!えっ?俺?オーケストラの部分なんか聴いたことねーよ(切腹!)

イッツオールトゥマッチは名曲です。
といおうと思ったら既に書いてらっしゃる方がいらっしゃるｗ
というわけでヘイ・ブルドッグを推しますｗ

リミックス版のほうがこの曲は確かにかっこいいのでこの曲に関してはまぁあえてこのアルバムじゃなくても・・といえちゃうんですが、リミックスのイッツオールトゥマッチはギターの音が抑えられパーカッションの音がやたら大きいのでこちらをオススメします。
いや、もう絶対。

というか、映画に実際使われたバースが切られたままだというのがわたしにとっては永遠の謎なんですがｗ

ヘイ・ブルドッグ、オンリー・ア・ノーザンソング、オールトゥゲザーナウ、イッツオールトゥマッチ

どれも一位を取れそうな曲じゃないけど、「こんな隠れたいい曲があるんだよ」と薦めたくなる曲なんですよね。
