ゆらす　まわす　ひろげる・・・さまざまな手法で「スカート」という衣服の持つ魅力を最大限に引き出すことに成功したプラダの「ウェスト・ダウン展」。
今まで発表されたプラダのスカートを使用し、昨年世界各地のブティックにおいて行われたこの展覧会では、スカートの美しさと同時に、プラダの歴史を知ることができる大変興味深いものでした。その会場で公式カタログとして販売されていたのが本書です。
少女の遊び心をもった修道女が、自分の袈裟をイタリア特有の職人魂でもって官能的な服に仕立てる・・・プラダのスカートを一括して表現するとそんな感じでしょうか。リアルな唇をプリントする、ため息が出るほどビーズを刺繍する。だけど色は濃紺だったりブラウンだったり。
ファッション通を満足させつづけるプラダの魅力を理解するのに最良の一冊です。
