先に言いますが、ゆずをずっと追ってきたファンなので、私感は入ってます。
今回の作品。これが今のゆずの全力だと、肌で感じる作品だと思います。全力の北川、そしていつも以上に本気な岩沢。良い曲を作りたいという想いがどの曲からも伝わってきます。
どの曲も作品としては素晴らしい、完璧とは言えません。ゆず独特のツメの甘さ、そしてレコーディング技術の低さはまだまだ見られます。
しかしこれが今の彼らの全力フルパワー120%なんだな、という力強さは凄いです。特に岩沢。これまでの岩沢にはない、ちょっと珍しい曲が揃っています。ストレートな応援歌「人間狂詩曲」、自分達の苦悩をガシンと書きなぐった「つぶやき」(個人的にこの曲がこのアルバムのクライマックスだと思う)、そして純粋なラブソング「君宛のメロディー」
そして北川はTHIS IS ゆずともいえる名曲「明日天気になぁれ」

ゆずを他人に紹介する時、自分は迷わずこの作品をすすめます。

インストナンバーの『WONDERFUL WORLD』から始まり、流れるように『ストーリー』へ。『モンテ』は岡村ブギウギを彷彿とさせるような楽しげなナンバー。続く『おでかけサンバ』は北川得意の応援ソング。『うまく言えない』、ピアノとストリングスを交えたミディアムラブソング、亀田誠治氏のアレンジセンスが際立ってる。ピアニカとアコギで歌い上げる『黄昏散歩』。岩沢の見事なフィンガーピッキングは必聴。『凸凹』は蔦谷好位置が製作に携わったポップロックナンバー。前作のリアルを彷彿とさせる。アルバム中盤、『人間狂詩曲』はホーンを絡ませたポップナンバー。『春風』から『明日天気になぁれ』の流れは最高。このアルバムは曲順もよく考慮してあるアルバムだ。『行こっか』はストローク主体のシンプルなナンバー。続く『眼差し』は命果てるまでを彷彿とさせるロックナンバー。『君宛のメロディー』はシンプルながらも耳に残るメロディーが特徴的なラブソング。『つぶやき』は哀愁漂う少々暗めのナンバー、ラストナンバーへの繋ぎを担っている。そして『ワンダフルワールド』。これはご自分の耳でお確かめください。心温まる壮大なメッセージソングです。

遂にアルバムリリースですね☆シングル『春風』『ストーリー』はもちろん、今回はアルバムタイトルにもなっている70人編成のオーケストラを迎えた楽曲『WONDERFUL WORLD』が収録。このアルバム最大の魅力になるでしょう。 前作『リボン』ベスト『ゆずのね』を経て、また一回り大きくなったゆずに期待大です。 それに今回のアルバムタイトル、彼らにとって初の英語タイトルにも注目!!
