今作は各界で活躍する女性たちの書いた詞に河口恭吾がメロディをつけ、歌うという趣向です。
ここ数年、音楽的に色々な試みをして、あがいていたという印象があった彼ですが、
今作でひとつの答えにたどり着いた気がします。
女性の心情を美しい旋律にのせて、やわらかい彼ならではの「声」で歌う。
ばっちりはまっています。
そういえば、『君を好きだったあの頃』のなかで、『やさしい雨』や『渡良瀬橋』、『Ｆｉｒｓｔｌｏｖｅ』など
女性が詞を書いた曲が良かったですね。

このアルバムは優れた等身大の詞の良い曲がそろっていますが（特にコシノヒロコさん）、彼自身の作詞した『CALL』が
一番好きでした。−勇気出してもう一歩後ろへーという部分がとても心に残りました。

追記『桜』や『水曜日の朝』の「キミとボク」のちいさな幸せを歌った男性目線の歌ももちろん好きですよ！

2年前のカバーアルバムでは渡良瀬橋が好きでした。女性の歌詞と河口さんの声がとても合っていたからです。
今回は女性が書いた詞に河口さんがメロディをつけているので、聞いているととてもやさしい気持ちになれました。個人的には3曲目の《キミに残す手紙》と10曲目の《ONE》が気に入りました。前者は詞に込められた想いと温もりのあるメロディが調和したバラードで、後者は力強いメッセージをそのままアップテンポに仕上げられていました。

私は1年に1度河口さんから届けられるアルバムをとても楽しみにしています。やさしいメロディと声はずっと聞いていたくなります。《会社をやめて旅に出よう》…っていうのは実際できないので、河口さんの歌を聞いてまた仕事がんばりたいです。皆さんもぜひ聞いてくださいね。

自身の歌手活動もままならないのにオーディション番組にてプロデュース席側に居る事自体可笑しいし売名行為そのものだ!
