I just received my book with great anticipation. It is beautifully photographed and a very beautiful book with nice glossy pages. But I decided to review it right away even though I have not yet made any of the projects.
I was so disappointed when I discovered that some of the animal photos dont even show the animal face front or head on. Not anywhere in the book did I find a full view photo of animals such as Koala (unless you want to count the little head shot on page 64).
Others were ladybug (I have no idea how she should look face on), Ollie the Owl (almost face on, but not completely). It doesnt show Ollie holding the blanket that there are directions for. And finally Toucan , while a great side view photo, no head on photo for him either. Yes, I know he has a big nose, but I'd still like to see one.
On a positive note, the projects are very, very cute and I cant wait to make them, but when you pay so much for these books, you want it to contain good, helpful photos of the finished project. I'm sorry Voodoo Maggie, because according to her introduction she lives and breathes amigurumi and I'm sure she wanted this book to be perfect.
Final note, I am glad I purchased it. I've crocheted amigurumi like crazy and love it and I'm sure I can muddle through without
perfect photos, but for those who might be new at it, it's a good thing to know.
