この本は、vimを多少かじったことのある人が読むと、頭がすっきりするというレベルの本だと思います。僕はこれを読んでいろいろなことをマスターできていっていると思っています。

viの初心者には、ちょっと、とっつきにくいところがあるかもしれません。やや体系だっていない部分があり、説明されていない内容の例題が出てきたりして、「おや？」と思うときはあるかもしれません。
ただ、本気でvimをマスターしたいと思っているのだったら、持っておいて損はしないと思います。

概ね良い本だと思いますが、全体的に荒削り（手抜き？）な感じがします。

たとえば、600ページの本文に対して索引が3ページしか有りません。
索引で引いた語句が見つからず、目次から本文を追いかけて項目を探して見つかる、ということもしばしば起こります。

また、コマンドの短縮形は巻末に載っているんですが、本文に載っていないので、読みながら操作するときに不便です。結構なページ数をチュートリアルに割いているので、チュートリアルの中に短縮形が出てくれば、操作しながら覚えられるのに残念です。

でもまぁ、vimの書籍は少ないし、初級者〜中級者なら持っていて損は無いと思います。

当然のことですが、Vimに関する書籍です。
当方WindowsOS対応のVimを使っております。
そのため、マニュアル本がほしくて購入しました。
オライリー本も持っていますが、内容が濃くないです。
その点この本を読むと濃い濃い濃い内容が自分の中に
しみこんできます。

他のレビュアーも報告しているとおり、検索しにくい
のが欠点です。

しかし、それを補い余りある知識量の本だと思います。
お勧めです。
