トライバルなアフリカン・ビートと細かなギターリフ。そこに時折加わるシンセとストリングス。
しかも全編にわたってPOPさ満点です。
巷で引き合いに出されているTalking Headsはもちろん、去年だとDarty Projectorsあたりにハマッた人には是非。
さすが最近のNYはおもしろいもの出してきますね！

ストロークスのギター・リフにアフリカン・ビートを融合したインディー・ポップ、という踊り文句に釣られてホイホイ買ったけれど、言う程アフリカン・ビートな感じはしないですね。良くも悪くも白人的なインディーポップです。

雑誌に煽られて消費し尽くされるのか、それともうまくかわして息の長いバンドになるのか。好調が続くUSインディー・シーンにいよいよ出てきた胡散臭げなバンドなので、色んな意味で目が離せません！

ヘロヘロ声にスッカスカのギターとドッタバタのドラム。
何か聞いたことあるようなポップなメロディー。
パーカッションはアフリカン。ストリングスはクラシック。
雰囲気はフリーフォークかトロピカリズモ。
気持ちよくてやめられません。無限リピートしてしまっています。

ヘロヘロ具合→クラップユアハンズセイヤー？
スッカスカ具合→ストロークス？
ドッタバタ具合→メグホワイトのドラム？（まさかシャッグス？？→そんなことはない。）
ポップ具合→グラスゴー辺りのギターポップ？
アフリカン具合→トーキングヘッズ？レゲエビートもありますね。
フリーフォーク、トロピカリズモ具合→デヴェンドラ・バンハート？アニマルコレクティヴ？

これがいわゆる今の流行の音なんですかね？
（インディー的な雰囲気をあえて出すけど、実はそれが今のメインストリームみたいな・・。）

まあ、理屈は抜きにして、愉快に楽しめます。ゴチャ混ぜ、ゴッタ煮大歓迎です。
