My 4 year old son loves this series

He has insisted that this be read to him at least once a week, along with a number of others in the Transformers Animated series. He is now 5 and learning how to read them to himself, and this is one of the ones he chooses.

Little Guy Struts his Stuff

I didn't find the storyline very compelling, but basically this is about a little guy (Bumblebee, the smallest Transformer) who demonstrates that he can be a useful member of the team despite (or even because of) his size. If you have a child who only shows interest in books that feature his favorite characters, or if you have a kid who is small for his age and needs a little encouragement about his size, then I guess this is okay, but know that there is some violence. In the future I think I can find some better, classic children's books that champion the underdog. I'm giving this three stars because my son seems to like it okay, although I wouldn't say it's one of his favorites.

Good for Young Transformer Fans

I have read this book dozens of times to my grandson. There is something very appealing about it to a 5 year old transformer fan. He's gotten more entertainment per dollar out of this purchase than most of the purchases I have made. It's not great literature, but the moral of the story, that you can make a difference even if you're small, is a good one.
