After 40 years The Paper Chase by John Osborn endures as the most powerful, best written, and funniest tale of the dreams that would-be lawyers dream and of what happens to those aspirations at Harvard Law School. I envy the next generation of law students. They will both benefit from the humanizing influence that The Paper Chase has had on the way that law schools operate (although much remains unchanged) and enjoy the privilege of reading this great book for the first time. I would recommend it highly to anybody who has a heart or a sense of humor. By virtue of Osborn's compelling writing, great characters, and rare insight The Paper Chase has stood the test of time.
