The Dragons at War is an excellent anthology set in the world of Krynn during various time periods. The impressive array of authors have written countless books in the setting, and their short stories are nothing short of remarkable in this collection. Each story shows a different facet of the great wyrms of Krynn, including the original 10 created by Paladine and Takhisis, draconians, dragon riders, dragons in mortal guise, the treachery of the evil, and the gentleness of the good. If you read this collection you will laugh at the whimsical tales, such as The First Dragonarmy Engineer's Secret Weapon by Don Perrin and Margaret Weiss, and you will feel sadness and sobriety after reading Aurora's Eggs by Douglas Niles and Through the Door at the Top of the Sky by that cunning storyteller Roger E. Moore. There are countless books in the Dragonlance series, and numerous short story collections therein, but this one shines as a fine example of the setting and the skills of the authors who dream there.
