アメリカの民主主義の病理を明らかにし、民主主義に内在する問題点を鋭く突いている本である。
選挙対策が日本よりも進んでいるアメリカの問題点は日本でもかならず問題になる。
マスコミ、テレビ等の大衆に与える影響をエピソードを交えて論じている。
あんまり読んでいて楽しい本ではないが、日本人にはこういう議論や知見が足りていない気がするので一読を勧める。
