I was introduced to this book by an Episcopal priest who thought it should be required reading for anyone attending seminary. It is howlingly funny, yet with a profoundly simple message. I have loaned it to several friends, and all of them thought it was written about someone they knew. Claude Dee and his confederates are just waiting to appear on the silver screen. Maybe Billy Bob Thornton as Claude Dee, Ned Beatty as Harley Biggs?
All told, a most enjoyable book!

A Real Laugh Out Loud Howler!!!!!!

(...). There are lots of hilarious ones, but this one simply cannot be beat! An ex-con,jailed for shooting his best friend while fooling around with his wife, gets out of prison, and decides to set up shop as a tent-rival evangelist. With his other old pal, and a 13 year old girl named Henry, this trio lights up a storm in the Ozark hills with their outlandish version of the Lord and his greatness. When this scheme does not work out quite as planned, they become a law and order group. But this does not even begin to tell this terrific tale of absurdity and outrageousness, even with few sublime moments thrown in for good measure. Do yourself a favor, and click the "BUY" button. This book may be X-rated, but the howls of laughter are simply unbelievable!
