I'm on day 5 and feel great! I ate pretty decent before I started this detox so I haven't experienced any withdrawal symptoms(I don't drink coffee or pop)and I haven't even had any cravings surprisingly, since I eat my fair share of bread, meat, and sweets. I can't say there has been a huge change in how I feel but I also feel good knowing that I'm eating really healthy and giving my liver a break. I take a lot of Excedrin Migraine for headaches and I know it isn't good for me so that is why I started this program to begin with.
The best thing about this book is the recipes! Even if you don't go on the detox, I recommended this book just for the healthy recipes. I wasn't expecting a whole lot as wheat, salt, sugar, meat, eggs...are all cut out for the most part. To my surprise, everything has been super delicious. I will keep using these recipes and the new food I've never used before long after the detox.
Start-up is slightly costly in the way of the supplements. Thankfully there are not too many you have to take as I hate taking pills period. But I am saving so much money by not going out to eat! There is a lot of cooking involved too. I don't work so I have time but if you do, you will have to do a lot of the cooking at night for the next days lunch. The recipes are easy and actually really fast to make so that is a plus. You will need a blender and a food processor which I already had but I did decide to buy a new juicer as well (you don't have to but you won't be able to have the vege juices; they are not used as a meal or snack, just extra). I always wanted one anyway, so that was my splurge.
Even if you don't care about focusing on your liver in particular, this book is a great way to give your body a healthy break from all the junk we eat. It really has made me look closer at the things I eat too. My whole family will end up benefiting from this book!
