歩数計というと普通はいい加減なものですが、このPD-642は測定器のような精度を持ちます、このモデルのひとつ前のPD-638から引き続いて愛用していますが、精度は文句のつけようがありません、他の加速度計測の高価な製品にも劣ることはありません、これは絶対お勧めです！

この歩数計は長所も短所も「腕時計型である」の一言に尽きます。

長所は、やはり装着しやすいということ。
歩数計は実は女性にとってはかなり使いづらいものなので、（ベルト装着タイプはベルトがないと使えませんし、女性用の服にはポケットがあるとは限らないのでポケットに忍ばせておくというのもちょっとつらい）そういう意味では非常に使いやすいのです。
ただ、かなり無骨なので仕事中など一日中使うのは女性にはつらいです。いろいろ悩んでグレーが最も目立たないのではないか、と思いグレーを買ったのですが、やはり長袖の時期でない限り職場につけていくのは無理かも。それでも、休日などに一日つけておくには便利です。長袖の日には手首が隠れるので職場にもつけていったりしています。

短所は、腕という日ごろ良く使う部分に装着するものであること。髪をかきあげると2-3歩計測しています。逆にお皿を運んだり、左肩からかけているバッグに手を添えて歩いていたり、傘を左手でさしていたりすると、計測していません。ふと思い立って首からさげるタイプと併用してみたのですが、雨の日一日で約1000歩前後少なく計測していました。

結論としては「大まかな日常の運動強度をゆるやかにモニターしたい」人にお勧めだ、といえるでしょう。腕時計型ですので装着を忘れることも減ったように思います。

それにしても、もうすこしおしゃれなデザインの腕時計型歩数計の誕生が望まれます。
