ジョージがプロデュースしたトラックはウェットな感触で後の自身のアルバム”リヴィング・イン・ザ・マテリアル・ワールド”に繋がるようなプロデュースを施しているのが興味深い。

アップルアーティストの不運は彼らがビートルズフォロワーを目指している、いないにかかわらず比較対象が常にビートルズであったことである。特にバッドフィンガーのようなビートルズライクなバンドには創作内容にもそれがかかわってくる。アップルに見出されたもののソフトロック的なアプローチのアイビーズとしては英米でのレコードリリースはキャンセルされたが、幸運にもマッカートニー提供のポップソング[Come and Get it]にてバッドフィンガーとして再デビューした彼ら。その後[No Dice][No Matter What]でも十分過ぎる結果を出したにもかかわらず、ジェフ・エメリックがプロデュースしたアルバムはアップルに拒否されアイビーズと同じ運命を辿ってしまった。もちろんジョージやトッド･ラングレン（トッドとメンバーは犬猿の仲）がプロデュースしたものもイイのだが、リリース拒否されたトラック（ＣＤのボーナストラックとして収録）は何故拒否されたか分からないほど素晴らしい。ともあれこのゴタゴタによって前アルバムより一年以上の期間が空いてしまい、オリジナルアルバムリリース時期にアメリカでブッキングしていたライヴは不入りとなってしまったそうです。

ジョーイはボーナストラックのシングル候補曲であった”Name of The Game”に関して「ピートはポップソングでもロックでもない新しい曲を作った」と後述している。アップル（大人）にはそれが分からなかっただけなのかもしれない。

バッドフィンガーというとどうしても話題になりがちなのが「メンバー続々自殺の悲劇のバンド」ということなんすけどまあそんなのどうでもいいじゃん。そんなことよりもバッドフィンガーの音楽の素晴らしさに耳を傾けましょうよ。

これは一番有名なアルバムでバッドフィンガー名義になってからは3枚目（最初期はアイビーズという名前だった）。前作『ノー・ダイス』と並ぶ完成度＆人気を誇る。プロデュースはトッド・ラングレンとジョージ・ハリスンが務めている。

元々ビートルズの弟バンド的な売り出し方をされていたわけだが、このアルバムはプロデューサーの影響もあってか本当にビートルズに似ている。

所謂サイケデリック・ロックというわけではない。直球勝負の叙情的かつ痛快。流麗なブリティッシュ・ロック＆ポップである。酒に酔っているような感も無きにしも非ずではあるが。

どの曲も良いがやはり挙げておくべきはジョージ・ハリスンのスライド・ギターがフィーチャーされ、レオン・ラッセルがピアノを弾く『デイ・アフター・デイ』だろうか。後半のツイン・ギターにシビレる。
