確かに、傑作とされる「ＬＯＷ」に比べるとアルバム全体の統一感はない。が、タイトル曲「Station To　Station」の緊張感、「Stay」の独特のスピード感、 「Wild is the wind」のせつなさ--。渋い一枚。私は好きです。

６曲だけである。まあこんな少ない曲数のフルアルバムもめずらしい。まあボウイといえば“ジギ-”か“アラジン”のグラム時代か、“ロウ”“ヒーローズ”のベルリンものが代表作であろう。（レッツダンスは“代表作”から除外です！）、さてこの“ステーション・トゥ・ステーション ”。　それらのちょうど間ぐらいのリリースでこれを代表作に上げる人はあまり聞いたこと無いですね。シングルとしてのヒット曲もチャートアクションは地味。（もともとボウイはヒット曲少ないけどね。）ジャケットはボウイ主演の映画“地球に落ちて来た男”のワンシーンですが、その映画のなかで曲が使われてはいるわけではありません。ボウイの黄金の７０’Sの中でもかように地味な位置付けではありますが一度聞いてみてください。アルバムとして圧倒的に素晴らしい。先鋭的なサウンドと、ボウイの汗ばむようなボーカル（この頃が一番渋い声では？）ボウイが自分自身と向き合った結果の掛け値なしの傑作。たった６曲だがホント退屈とは全く無縁である。最近改めて聞き直し、腰を抜かしてしまいました。（３０代の、ボウイ歴１０年以上の方々の中では、今、このアルバムが一番お気に入りの人が多いのでは？）　　このアルバムが代表アルバムでないところがボウイの真のスゴさなのだが・・・聞いていない人で興味持ったら聞いて下さい。　因みに僕は携帯アドレスにこのアルバムの中のある曲を使ってます。

ボウイの名盤群はコンセプトやエキセントリックさが
突き抜けていますが、これは違う。

そういった「仕掛け」なしにシンプルにいい曲、いい演奏、
いい声なのです。

超一級のソングライター、ヴォーカリスト、サウンドクリ
エイターであるボウイを堪能できる作品。
