「レディ・ソウル」や「貴方だけを愛して」が大名盤なのは認めたうえで、このアルバムももっと取り上げられてよいと思う。全体的に落ち着いた雰囲気があり、パワフルなのだが、親しみやすい楽曲が並ぶ。2などはかなりジャズっぽいアレンジ。「フィルモア」でも再演していた1、6は名曲だし、ピアニストとしてのアレサも堪能できる。ライノのリマスターは相変わらずいい仕事。地味なジャケットで損をしているが、全ソウル・ファン必携の一枚、と断言。
