語りつくされた感があるテーマ「セナｖｓプロスト」ですが、本書は著者が２００８年に
行ったプロスト本人へのインタビューを柱に構成されています。セナはいませんので、当然
プロストから見た「セナｖｓプロスト」になるわけですが、そう言う意味でこれまで多く
出版されてきたセナ本とは趣が若干異なります。Ｇ．ヴィルヌーヴとピローニの確執を間近
で見、その結果二人がどうなったか。マクラーレンで同じようにチームメイトに「裏切られ」
たプロストの心情。

マクラーレンでのライバル関係には伏線があり、ルノー→マクラーレン→フェラーリ→
ウィリアムスとチームを渡り行く過程で、プロストのドライバーとしての心理の変遷と
重ね合わせて（と言うか切っても切れないわけですが）彼がセナをどう見ていたかが克明に
綴られます。

Richard Williamsの名著「The Death of Ayrton Senna」に劣らぬ快著。一気に読みました。
