倍速フルHD液晶技術
   ハイビジョン信号フォーマット（1080i）をありのままに表現するフルハイビジョンパネルに新開発・倍速フルHD液晶技術を採用。通常1秒間に60枚の映像で構成される動画映像に対し、前後の映像から補完する独自のアルゴリズムで、通常の2倍となる120枚で表示する倍速駆動を実現。スポーツなどの早いカメラワークやテロップ表示なども、残像感が少ないクリアな映像で楽しめる。


高コントラスト比
   最新液晶技術により、3000:1のコントラストを実現。黒の締りと表現力を一層高め、映画などの映像コンテンツをよりリアルに、階調豊かな映像で楽しめる。さらに液晶ならではの明るさにより、リビングコントラストは1300:1を実現。明るいリビングルームでもクッキリとリアル感溢れる高画質で楽しめる。


4波長バックライト
   光の3原色に「深紅」を加え、自然な赤を再現する4波長バックライトを採用。色再現性がさらに進化し、AQUOSの色彩表現力が一段とアップしている。深みのある赤の再現力をより高め、健康的な肌色などの中間色の表現も限りなく自然に近い、微妙な美しさまで再現する。

液晶表示付リモコン採用
   選局した放送の種類（地上A/地上D/BS/CS）を表示する液晶付リモコンの採用と、テレビ本体のリモコン受光部の増設により、はじめてデジタルテレビをお使いになる人でも使いやすい設計となっている。

1ビットデジタルアンプ
   原音の持つ情報量をほぼそのままに伝える、当社独自の「高精度1チップ△Σ変調LSI」により、自然でクリアな高音質で再生する。
   さらに、スピーカー前面に音抜けの良い高開口率スピーカーネットを採用。スリムながらもサブウーハーを採用した2.1ch構造により、低音再生に優れ、大出力で迫力のサウンドを高音質で楽しめる。

   年間消費電力わずか218kwh/年、電気料金に換算すると年間約3,488円（1kwh=16円にて算出）の省エネ設計で、省エネ法に定められた2008年度基準に対し、152％の達成率となっている。

37型にしようか迷ったのですが、後悔したくないので思い切って、現時点で最高スペックのＲシリーズを購入しました（値段もハリましたが…）
画質・音ともに申し分ありません
１４畳のリビングですが、存在感ばっちりです

電気店や身近な人が持っている薄型テレビの最新機種を何度も比較した結果を書きます。
画質・音質面は接戦ですが、以下の３機種が特に黒が黒っぽく出る点でよい。
三菱・ビクターは液晶だがこの２機種だけ斜めの動きに残像が少ない。
東芝は薄めの色合い(これを自然というかは個人の好み)、SONYは奇麗だが赤っぽい。
SHARPの映像は東芝の画像エンジンを購入してからは良いが、他と比べて音が悪すぎで１社出遅れている。一昔前の音源。
１位　パイオニア(KURO)
２位　三菱(REALとくにMZW)
３位　ビクター(EXE)
使い易さ面は、がらりと順位が入れ替わる。特に東芝のテレビ番組表は秀逸。USB経由でHDDを接続するだけで録画に使用できる機能もよい。
１位　東芝(レグザ特にZ3500)
２位　SHARP(AQUOS)
３位　Panasonic(VIERA)
ビデオはBDレコーダーでSONYがいいのを出しているので接続性を考えるなら得かも。
VIERA50Vは、発熱が多いのが唯一の難点。冬は暖房が要らないかも。夏は僕は耐えられない。
