とにかく、こんなにROCKしているRINGOは初めて。巷での評価も'73年の「RINGO」以来の傑作との評価が多いですが、私も同感です。今まではポップなエンタテイメント性の強いアルバムを発表してきましたが（それはそれでいいのですが）、どうして今までこういうアルバムを出さなかったのかが不思議です。やれば出来るじゃん、RINGO。今回はまたまた３枚組として再登場ですが、新たにボーナス曲３曲が追加され、更にラジオ番組でのインタビュー収録のボーナスCDと、前回の初回盤にも付いていたDVDもPVとそのメイキングを追加収録と、全てにおいてヴァージョン・アップ。絶対「買い」の1枚です。

今はヒットチャートを賑わせるほどの成績は残せなくなってしまったリンゴだが、彼のトップ・アルバムと言われる「ＲＩＮＧＯ」をも凌ぐアルバムだと思う。特に最近（９０年以降）のスタジオ録音盤は素晴らしく、私はポールのファン（のつもり）なのだが、少なくともポールの「ＤＲＩＶＩＮＧ・ＲＡＩＮ」よりいい！要は駄作がないのだ。楽曲以外でもクラプトンなどの大物ミュージシャンの参加、ジョージへのトリビュートなど話題にも事欠かない。自分が持ってるのはＵＳ盤でオマケのＤＶＤが付いていてタップリ３０分はありサーヴィス精神も満点！そして今度はデラックス版での再発で、ここでも通常盤に４曲のボーナストラックにインタビューデイスクと更に魅力も増している。今から買うならやはりコレ！ビートルズ・ファンは勿論、全ての洋楽にも是非一度聴いて頂きたい一枚。

パワフル＆ラウドな音作りに意欲の高さが感じられるし（ドラミングもそうだ！）、その中にリンゴの歌が呑みこまれることなくノリにノッている。7「我想う ゆえに我ロックす」なんて言っているのがこのアルバムの全てを物語っていよう。これは２１世紀の傑作だ！ まちがいない。

ＤＩＳＣ-２は、まるでエアチェックしているような感覚で聴ける好盤。

ＤＩＳＣ-３は、米初回盤に収められていたボーナスＤＶＤに、「ＮＥＶＥＲ ＷＩＴＨＯＵＴ ＹＯＵ」のＰＶとそのメイキングを追加したもの。ＰＶにはジョージ ハリスンのかつての勇姿が織り込まれています。が、この曲でソロをプレイしたクラプトンが出演していないのが残念かな。それから、このＤＶＤを持っている人はお気づきになられたでしょうか、メインメニュー画面で右か左のボタンを押してカーソルが消えたときに決定ボタンを押すと、プロデューサーのマーク ハドソンによるおバカなコントが始まるのを、、、けっこう笑えますんでぜひぜひチェックして下さい。
